How to Clean a Puffco Peak Easily

The best way to keep your Puffco Peak at an optimum functioning level is to maintain it regularly. We'll teach you how to clean a Puffco peak in 15 minutes or less.

Materials for cleaning the Puffco Peak

For cleaning you'll need:

  • 95% isopropyl alcohol or higher.

  • Q-tips

  • Container or Ziplock bag

  • Torch for cleaning out any stain in your ceramic cup

  • Long-nose pliers

  • Soft pipe cleaners

How to clean the Puffco Peak atomizer

  1. Let the Puffco Peak cool a bit, primarily if you've used it in a long, thoroughly enjoyable session.

  2. Take out the carb cap first as well as the tether. Unscrew off the atomizer next. Inspect the terminal where your atomizer sits on the rig. Use a cotton swab dabbed in alcohol to clean that area thoroughly to maintain good contact. Make sure to clean up all of the dregs. Use the opposite side of the Q-tip to dry the terminal thoroughly. The atomizer and the terminal should be completely dry before you use the dab rig.

  3. Soak the atomizer thoroughly in iso. Don't take it apart immediately, especially if you've been using it for a long time. Let the iso loosen any stuck-on parts for a good 15-30 minutes before you take it apart.

  4. Take out the atomizer and take it apart really carefully. You don't want to break the heating element.

  5. Use a Q-tip to clean all the parts of the atomizer. Be careful when separating the silicone part as you can easily break the ceramic pieces. Use wipes wet with iso to take out all of the stains that you can.

  6. If your ceramic cup has baked-on reclaim, you can use the torch to heat out the stain gently. Hold the insert with a pair of long-nose pliers and torch the inner surface of the cup. Alternatively, you can use a dab rig and place the insert inside a quartz banger. Note that this process can cause your banger to turn gray and cloudy.

  7. Take the torch away after several seconds then torch it again. Don't let the cup heat for more than 2-3 minutes straight, or you'll crack it. Keep going until you see the cup become almost as good as new.

  8. Let the parts cool and dry before re-assembling.

Cleaning the bubbler attachment

  1. Pull out the bubbler or the glass accessory from the base and set it aside.

  2. Take the bubbler and tip it over a glass or the sink to take out the water. Keep going until you empty the water.

  3. Place the bubbler inside a Ziplock bag and submerge it in iso. Or you can pour water directly inside the bubbler attachment and plug the air vent at the base.

  4. Shake the bag or the attachment for a good 3-5 seconds to take out any residue stuck inside the glass.

  5. If the glass is particularly dirty, you may want to soak it for 3 hours to overnight.

  6. Use pipe cleaners and carefully scrub out any stubborn residue.

  7. Rinse thoroughly with warm running water until you get all of the alcohol out.

Things to consider when cleaning your Puffco Peak

The atomizer is a fragile thing. Don't take it apart unless necessary. The best way to keep it fully functional is to wipe it clean with a Q-tip wet with iso to take out any left-over concentrate.

Make sure all parts are completely dry before you operate your dab rig. Always bear in mind that the Puffco Peak is an e-Rig. Moisture can cause damage to live wirings, so give a bit of extra attention by wiping the parts completely dry.

You don't need salt to clean the bubbler attachment. You can speed up the process by using warm iso. To keep things safe, you can put the alcohol inside a Ziploc bag and dunk it inside a bowl of hot water.

Pay attention to the bottom of the Peak bubbler. You need to get the stain out, and the best way to do it is to let the bubbler soak until the residue softens.

Maintaining Puffco Peak is easy once you know how to do it. Yes, it's a bit intimidating at first, considering that Puffco is a high-end product. However, as long as you know what you're doing and you pay attention to the delicate parts, deep cleaning is easy.
